Hello from Shanghai, China
I've got a few days off work so i'm here for a bit of a holiday. It's raining, people here aren't as polite compared to Japan, and the internet sucks. But it's not so bad. Looking forward to seeing the place in daylight tomorrow.

Trev,
I am thinking of going there for a holiday for a few days as well as Tokyo and Beijing. Do you recommend it?

Re: Hello from Shanghai, China
Just got back from lunch with an old aquaintance. Still raining. Shanghai isn't being shown in a very good light at the moment. The architecture is nice, though. There's a European feel to the place, obviously as a result of history. There's more westerners here than Tokyo, as well.
The hotel i'm staying in is nice, but customer service (Apart from at my hotel) is crap. They're a bit rude and dismissive. We waved at a waitress to take our order, she looked at us, then walked in the other direction, before returning 5 minutes later.
Going out tonight. Should be a bit of a bender.

So Flaming Bails is working in the PRC (Why they didn't go the whole hog and say "Democratic People's" is beyond me, but hey) at the moment. HMMNNN..........
Well Hitler didn't understand cricket either and the CHINESE LEADERSHIPhave superiority complexes that make the Nazis look like wallflowers.
They should take a bex and admit that the rest of the world only tolerate the PAEDOPHILIOCRACY.
While they're at it the Chinese Communist Party should act like one and redistribute the wealth. Allowing the PEASANTS to VOTE might help lower their standing on the BARBARIAN ratings.
Leaving TIBET alone and inviting the DALAI LAMA to hold a prayer ceremony in TIANENMAN SQUARE would also be a GREAT LEAP FORWARD instead of continuing a LONG MARCH to pariah hood.
FALUN GONG forever.
Rise up you poor oprressed people, tear down the electronic walls the brainless gorms of the Politburo have built around you and light a torch, not for the self agrandising MONSTERS who style themselves your leaders, but for DEMOCRACY evrywhere.

One of the unfortunate things about countries that are new to tourism... Those who serve you tend to act the way they really feel, and most seem to be wearing shoes that pinch them.Henry wrote:

Not met many, (only one, who was normal), but their TV shows, animes and general news documentaries make them look decidedly strange and, er, childish.
