November 24, 2008 ANDREW Symonds's international cricket career is in the balance after allegations surfaced that he was involved in a bar-room fight in Brisbane.

Cricket Australia is investigating an alleged incident involving the all-rounder in a Brisbane pub just hours after Australia's first Test win over New Zealand.

Symonds is understood to have been drinking with several members of the Australia rugby league team when a fight allegedly broke out. It's not clear whether he was an aggressor in the incident or whether he was provoked prior to the altercation.

The all-rounder had just returned to the Test team after missing the tour of India following the "gone fishing" saga.

In a recent interview on Channel Nine he admitted that alcohol had contributed to some of his recent off-field issues.

Cricket Australia is aware of the incident, and is attempting to gather further information on the matter.
