Good prospect. His SLA is very decent. Tweaky and aggressive.
One to watch, fo' shizzle.

My one to watch Dawson performing better with the ball than bat atm...
This boy could be the real deal. His bowling arm went past the vertical occasionally when seen on TV last season, but that should be easily cured.
was more his busy batting that caught my eye tbh, reminded me of a busy Shane Watson type. Fear he's a little bit stumpy to make the grade at a higher level as a bowler.
In that case, he'll need to learn to give the ball a proper tweak.
possibly - he wasn't afraid to chuck it up in his first few games of list A cricket
God, I hope not!

It's strange I almost prefer watching young cricketers come through than our first team right now.
Dawson was given raps by the commentators but I don't tend to take much notice. For instance Dan Redfern at Derby was playing last year at 17 and was heaped with praise but it seemed all he ever did was hit the ball to fielders in the V whereas Dawson scored a couple of 45's where he was finding the gaps at a run a ball from the get go.

Dawson's already got his maiden FC hundred firmly under his belt. Redfern has yet to cross that threshold.
Interested to see Scott Borthwick bat so high for the under 19s. Impressed with his leggies the only time I saw him in a 20-20 - looked very handy at just 18.
Perhaps he too has all-roundery potential.
Throw in Adil Rashid and Ollie Rayner and England's cupboard of promsing young spinners who can bat is filling up nicely enough to give Duncan Fletcher a semi.

This Pienaar bloke has been hammering England with both bat and ball. I hear he's quite quick. South Africa can seemingly produce quality all rounders at will.
