And you thought your name was bad?

'Adolf Hitler' Is Taken Into Care

Three young children with Nazi-themed names, including a
boy called Adolf Hitler, have been taken into care.

Officials removed Adolf Hitler Campbell and his sisters,
JoyceLynn Aryan Nation and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie, from their home in Holland
Township, Sergeant John Harris said.
But the Division of Youth and Family Services (DYFS) did not reveal the
reason why the children were taken into the custody of the state, he told Fox
News.
The children's father Heath Campbell is expected in court today in New Jersey
in connection with the case.
Kate Bernyk, a spokeswoman for the DYFS, said confidentiality laws prevented
her from confirming the Campbell children were involved.
"DYFS has their reasons and they normally don't release any information, so
we kind of have to go on faith with them," Sergeant Harris said.
"I've dealt with the family for years and as far as the children are
concerned, I have never had any reports of any abuse with the children.
"As far as I know, he's always been very good with the children."
In December, a shop refused to sell a birthday cake to Mr Campbell and his
wife Deborah because they asked for three-year-old Adolf Hitler's name to be
iced onto it.
Bakers ShopRite said it would be "inappropriate" to put such a name on a cake
and added they would not be willing to provide a cake for JoyceLynn Aryan Nation
when she turns two in February.
Mr Campbell said he named his son after Hitler because he liked the name and
because "no-one else in the world would have that name".

Reminds me of this story:

Court: Girl can't be called Talula Does The Hula

updated 6:32 a.m. ET July 24, 2008

WELLINGTON, New Zealand - A family court judge in New Zealand has had enough with parents giving their children bizarre names here, and did something about it.

Just ask Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii. He had her renamed.

Judge Rob Murfitt made the 9-year-old girl a ward of the court so that her name could be changed, he said in a ruling made public Thursday. The girl was involved in a custody battle, he said.

The new name was not made public to protect the girl's privacy.

'Very poor judgment'

"The court is profoundly concerned about the very poor judgment which this child's parents have shown in choosing this name," he wrote. "It makes a fool of the child and sets her up with a social disability and handicap, unnecessarily."

The girl had been so embarrassed at the name that she had never told her closest friends what it was. She told people to call her "K" instead, the girl's lawyer, Colleen MacLeod, told the court.

In his ruling, Murfitt cited a list of the unfortunate names.

Sex Fruit?

Registration officials blocked some names, including Fish and Chips, Yeah Detroit, Keenan Got Lucy and Sex Fruit, he said. But others were allowed, including Number 16 Bus Shelter "and tragically, Violence," he said.

New Zealand law does not allow names that would cause offense to a reasonable person, among other conditions, said Brian Clarke, the registrar general of Births, Deaths and Marriages.

Clarke said officials usually talked to parents who proposed unusual names to convince them about the potential for embarrassment.

FYI . . .

The girl's name Hilda \hi(l)-da\ is pronounced HILL-dah. It is of Old German origin, and its meaning is "battle woman".
Battle axe is more appropriate, me thinks Laughing

My real name is actually Hildagonda (swedish) (with the same meaning). Why I said I was named after a Bulldog was due to the fact that my paternal grandmother bred these dogs (her name was also Hildagonda) and they had one dog caled Lady Hilda. I never say that I was named after my grandmother but rather a dog.

Yep, and Baroness Thatcher's second name is Hilda - hence the Iron Lady.

I once had to translate a report about a Zimmer who repeatedly harassed a family until the head finally got fed up and dispatched him. No great shakes as a story, except the fellow who got done in was named Carpet Bomb.

He looks about 9. Feel sorry for him really, looks quite a cute kid. A few years time and he'll realise he's stuck with the Ugliest girl in Eastbourne.
