While we wait for skully with his good questions, here's one I came across recently:
Of test batsmen scoring more than 1000 runs, who has the highest, lowest score? For instance, if you get a duck then your lowest score is 0. (Hint: There are 5 batsmen who have a highest lowest score of more than 0 and one alone at the top of that list.)
JW Burke (Aus) - career runs 1280, lowest score 1
HL Collins (Aus) - career runs 1352, lowest score 1
RA Duff (Aus) - career runs 1317, lowest score 1
Waqar Hasan (Pak) - career runs 1071, lowest score 1*
DL Houghton (Zim) - career runs 1464, lowest score 1
Yasir Hameed (Pak) - career runs 1450, lowest score 2
So the answer is Pakistan's Yasir Hameed.
This is correct. FTR I had Burke making a 0* and therefore no technically qualifying.
Coincidentally, 3 of those 5 (excl Burke) scored tons on their debuts.

Aye. HW Taylor's top score of 7 in SAf's 30 v Eng at Birmingham in 1924 is the lowest innings high score. This SAf innings remains the only instance in Test history that contained no double figure score (by a batsman).Bradman wrote:Taylor 1924. FFS! The Yarpies have three on 11 one on 10 and Taylor on 7.

What about the other way around. What is the highest lowest score (by an individual) in any completed Test innings?

Indeed, JGK.
12 by RG Nadkarni - Ind (359) v NZ, Dunedin, 1967-68 is the highest lowest score made in any completed innings in Test history.

Sorry qmy, had to duck out for a spell. JGK dug the answer up.Bradman wrote:No hint? Anderson. The Oval 2004.
And not a bad stab, qmy. Blob Key made 10 in that same innings that Anderson made 12 (Eng (470) v WI at The Oval in 2004), so didn't "top" Nadkarni's effort.

I always thought that Herbie Taylor held that record with a score of 7.

Re: Difficult Trivia Thread (IV)
Herbie Taylor was the answer to the previous question.
I asked who had the record for the lowest highest score in an innings. His 7 in the SAf total of 30 at Birmingham in 1924 is the lowest high score in a completed Test innings (and the only single figure top score in Test history) i.e. the lowest of all the top scores in all completed Test innings.
Nadkarni's effort is the highest of all the lowest scores made in all completed Test innings.
