Re: Sorry, I need cheering up
Not the version I was thinking of, Peter, I was cross-fertilising from the flak (flack) thread. Happy song, though.

Re: Sorry, I need cheering up
I used not to like Shirley - on possibly snobbish grounds - because she is so "exuberantly approximate".
(Also no doubt becuae my mother has always liked her - for more or less the same reasons! And that used to be the epitome of "square", conceding any good in the parents' tastes. We are now at last in a more timeless age, where everything you can think of has been done and there is little new under the sun (misquoting Keven Ayers again ...) And it's allowed to see good in more or less all things. (And bad, obviously.)
And she does belt it out with gusto. And just that makes me smile. ...

I love "Little Voice" plus, I was brought up to listening to "our Shirl", I'm a weird mixture of things, just like you, Pete.

So are we all.
It's just that most don't admit it.
I am half man, half biscuit and half rubbish at maths.

I can do maths but spelling lets me down.

I do that for a living and no one ever thanks me properly!
Even if you haven't spayed or neutered any of my animals, THANK YOU! for doing it to other peoples'. Stoopid american animal programmes and generally too many horses in particular make me very appreciative of it here.
