Re: Happy 50th Mr Bucket
Am I too late to say thanks for all the good wishes? I suspect so. I must have been on a forum hiatus when all this was posted. I celebrated with my two younger brothers, quietly for the most part, though a bottle of excellent Henschke HoG was consumed over a fine meal.
How are those growth rings accumulating for you, skully, 'old bean'?
'Bumping' this thread from p 121 means I've been visiting the forum for just as long AFTER reaching the half ton as I did beforehand, which is hard to believe.

Re: Happy 50th Mr Bucket
Am I too late to offer the birthday wishes for your 50th? I reckon I was on holiday and, as Bradman stated, he was TBing and hence it probably got lost in the filth.
Re: Happy 50th Mr Bucket
never too late
'There's some lovely filth down here, Dennis'. Sadly I'm not 37 any more.

Re: Happy 50th Mr Bucket
'Good grief Charlie Brown' ... I found this now well aged thread.
This was all posted such a long time ago now. I hit the dreaded 6-0 halfway through this year, and my body tells me it has been a very hard ten years.
Skully, you must be 60 soon, too.
I'm still struggling around the field, just, always on Sundays not Saturdays now, and it feels like even that will end soon. Have managed to play a few games with my younger son (even he is 32 now), an ambition I was keen to fulfil. All good fun and have been lucky to spend about 14 summers with a good crew. If I can play until the end of this season and jag the odd appearance next year I will reach 200 games, which I'll be unreasonably pleased with after only starting with them aged 48.

Sterling effort, old fruit, both on making 60 (yes, I'm not far away) and on still playing as a sexagenarian.
Are you still putting the sex into sexagenarian?

Appeals are most often denied. I appeal more often than an Indian off-spinner on a bunsen burner, but without the same success.
On or off the field.

Like a good Indian offspiner may be you need to start paying for it.

I've met Mrs bucket. If he did that, she'd seriously tear him a new arsehole.

Re: Happy 50th Mr Bucket
Farked eyes, liver begging for mercy, hearing shot, and a long time since I ran competitively or even for pleasure. Currently attempting a ridiculous fitness regime to acclimatise to long days in a humid climate. Too tired to attempt an appeal the last couple of months and even John the bookies money couldn't tempt me. Grow old gracefully lardy and hope you can enjoy the odd game into your next decade.
