Immediately following the completion of the First Test of 2009 between Australia and England (8-12 July), Aussie captain Ricky Thomas Ponting went off on one about the English tactics of sending a butcher, baker and candlestick maker out on to the playing area, ostensibly to tend the needs of last two England batsman, James Michael Anderson and Mudhsuden "Monty" Singh Panesar, but in Ponting's view unfairly to hold up play in the last few minutes of the eventually drawn match.

The question is: Had Ponting ever been known to spit the dummy before?
