Two 90s in a match
jayawardene just got out in the 90s again in the ongoing test match. is this a first?
if he had managed to get to both hundreds he would be on an incredible 28 in his career, with only 8 batsmen above him in the all-time list. but would he be rated amongst even the top 50 of all time?

I won't even rate him amongst top-100 batsmen of all time.but would he be rated amongst even the top 50 of all time?

I'm thinking 150 more like it. And that is being lucky.
Someone like Carl Hooper is better despite the difference of 15 runs in the average.

Re: Two 90s in a match
Its an absolutely travesty for the art of test match batting for someone like him scoring so many test tons and runs at such an incredibly high average.
Same is true for his chum Samarweera.

I think cricinfo said Jayawardene was attempting to score his 10th test century at this ground, which would have been a record... so who holds the record now?

Of course poor Clem Hill once went 99,98 and 97 in consecutive innings.
