Not good. Obviously he won't play again this year; and he's going to be hard to replace.
Harley/Milburn/Rooke to step up?

It will be some bloke in some outrageously tight shorts and eurogay sleeveless top. He'll grope a few blokes and try to dropkick some weird shaped ball through a mass of posts. Some little gits behind these posts will either stick none, one or two arms out to signal which way to the Turkish baths.

Would it have to be a 'franchise' shoite, like Yanktwaatball? Couldn't they just get a team called 'Hobart Hunchbacks' and take the best Tozzie players and mingle them with current AFL 'stars', then just phase the team in?

Nah, they'd transfer one of the existing Melbourne teams down there. There are too many teams in Melbourne as it is, and one shifting permanently to Tassie is going to happen eventually. Should have been done way back, but the other teams liked having access to all the champion players Tasmania produced.

Which will be grouse as long as it's the right team. Or at least not one of the wrong ones . . .

Wrong from the point of personnel or wrong from the point of team reputation?

Surely if one of those teams became the Tossie team, not only would you have a team but you'd have erradicated a team you loathe...

Nath wrote:So you want to kill the state league then?

Well, yes. Yes, if that means it kills AFL.

There'd have to be a tozzie team eventually. Melbourne can't continue to sustain nine teams and several of them are only still surviving due to the AFL's handouts.

Selwood won the rising star award today.

NOOOOOOOOO! It doesn't work like that. They'd still be that team, only my poor beautiful Tassie would be lumbered with them. The colours, the history, a lot of the fans, the club culture, it all follows along. I could never barrack for a team that used to be Richmond or North Melbourne orEssendon or *shudder* Collingwood.

Not that I follow AwFuL any more . . .
