England are a good side. If you can recall (though you shouldn't need to rack your brains) we beat SL in their own backyard!
We won the last game, didn't we? I think we've confirmed 9 of the players as the real deal top drawer bonafide ODI performers. Maybe even 11.
All positive. Go England!

Well of course, looks like a cracking pitch at the home of cricket - so let get stuck into them.
I reckon its going to be a cracker - 300 plays 301. Just don't know who the 301 will be.
Re: England vs Sri Lanka, 2nd ODI, Headingley, 1 July, 2011
Thought Jimmy was going to Jonty Rhodes the stumps there for a second. Chandanimal positively suicidal.
Re: England vs Sri Lanka, 2nd ODI, Headingley, 1 July, 2011
Same as Dilshan though. Bonkers. Apart from that, Timmy B is cannons again.
Re: England vs Sri Lanka, 2nd ODI, Headingley, 1 July, 2011
I missed his first 2 overs, but he found the edge of Jayawardajedwardnene's bat twice just as I turned on, seemed a bit unlucky not to get a wicket.

Highest partnership for 3rd wicket in an ODI at Headingley beating Martin Crowe & Greatbach's 118 in 1990.

Hmm, what to say so far. Probably not a lot, as that could be seen as being negative.
No, go on... I don't think I can say it's a surprise, though, that the same bowlers who were abominable on decent pitches in the WC are doing their best to perform to such a low standard here. Flat pitch / lack of atmospheric conditions = poor bowling performance??? Hmmm...
Fresh new team, though, eh?

Broad and Dernbach serving up some pies right here. Broad has lost everything, his radar, his mind, his sanity.
He's also lost his wallet, yoink.

Athers posed the following question to the commentary box during the first ODI: "What else does Dernbach offer, other than his yorker?"
Silence.
Silence.

Dread. Only Swann with any semblance of control. Even James went for 25 in his last three overs.
