Bearing in mind that I don't know much.......after watching the ODI highlights tonight of Aus v NZ, I'm wondering why bowlers constantly bowl over the wicket to Gilly in ODI's despite the seemingly obvious fact that he likes width.
After Flintoff worked Gilchrist out in the Ashes using that ploy, it seems to me that you need to bowl around the wicket to him, yet it's like this fact is lost upon bowlers around the world. Today's game is a case point; Kyle Mills had to be hammered for 3 6's before going around, bowling a dot ball and going back over.
Meanwhile, Chris Martin dimissed Gilly twice in less than 2 overs, by going around the wicket, (by which time he already had 50)
I find it hard to understand why any right hand seemer would bowl over the wicket to any left hand batsman in ODI cricket given that almost all lefthanders strongly favour the ball thats angled away from them.
Does this make sense?

Re: Adam Gilchrist
The only thing I can think of is that bowlers just don't like having to keep switching from over to around when bowling to different batsman!
Or is it to do with bringing LBW into the equasion?
I've just remembered my first signature on C4......what do I know?
