I agree, the sentence is harsh - but they got the publicity they sought, they just underestimated the consequenses. Had they "performed" in a cafe, it would hardly have made an inside page in the local rag.

It still shows just how far Russia has come though, considering that 40 years ago they'd have had a one-way ticket across the Urals. I can't help wondering what they'd get pulling that stunt in a mosque anywhere in the Arab world
