Trott edges when he doesn't need to play. Cue collapse.
Re: India v England, 1st Test, Ahmedabad, 15-19 November, 2012
Just a good ball, wasn't a numbnutted effort like Pietersen or Bell. But yes cue collapse.

KP bowled round his legs to the SLA. Cue collapse.
Re: India v England, 1st Test, Ahmedabad, 15-19 November, 2012
Lordy, KP has looked out of sorts at the crease in this Test. Still struggling in the head a bit?

Remember him being useless in the UAE too. Just seems to be rubbish on proper turners.skully wrote:Lordy, KP has looked out of sorts at the crease in this Test. Still struggling in the head a bit?

Excellent hard-working ton by Chef. 21 tons by 27 years old. Outstanding.

Chivalry Augustus wrote:Well batted Alastair Cook. One of a select few batsmen in world cricket who has done the business in all conditions most of the time. He always has a method. Hard to believe he was staring down the barrel going into that Oval Test against Pakistan. He is now one of the very best batsmen in the world.

No woof. As I type this he gets beaten, naturally. But this is not just a very good innings, by Cook. Some innings look great for their artistry, style or domination over the opposition. This one is different; he just looks like there's nothing more natural in the world than his being at the crease, defending or attacking, just nothing to it, no hurry, no fuss, as if he's just standing there doing nothing other than idly breathing, and the bowling is incidental. For it's calm, poise and it could turn into one of the great innings played by an opposition batsman in India.

If England are to make India bat again, I think it might need a double by the skipper. He looks capable, such is his concentration.

Sagacity. He's on a completely different level to the rest of them.furriner wrote:No woof. As I type this he gets beaten, naturally. But this is not just a very good innings, by Cook. If only the other English batsmen had half the mental fortitude of Cook. Pietersen has looked the pits in this match. Why doesn't he just watch his innings in Colombo over and over again to remind himself how to play in these conditions?

Bell is getting better but he may go back to cut/ slash once too often. I get the sense he seems to be reading the spin better than the length.

So apparently Patel was apparently given out LBW on a ball that shaved the bat and then was going down the legside.
And Yadav on a hattrick.

Couple of cracking deliveries by Yadav. Not necessarily really wicket-takers but HALATSB.

"Ashok Subbarama: "Glad the 'lbw decisions' have evened out the game he he ... Umpiring mistakes are part of the game and its time people moved on." By moved on, you mean 'go backwards', I assume?"

On the bright side, this test has been a glorious advertisement for DRS. India is ideal for the DRS as well, with lots of balls skidding through low. There was a pad-bat half appeal with Yadav bowling to Bell, and the replay showed it would have most likely been over-turned with the DRS.

Aye, it's a farkin embarrassment to India that they continue to disagree with the use of DRS. What a pack of recalcitrant qunts the BCCI are.

I made the mistake of listening to the Hindi commentary; dear God, Sidhu surely is the most cringe inducing commentator ever.
