Mahela's last test. Here's hoping he can go out with a bang.

Upal Tharanga is the Phil Hughes of Sri Lanka. Fails, fails, fails, fails, then makes a score. He averages under 29, with one ton and 5 x 50s in 33* innings.

He's out. Mahela gone for 4. Needs a decent score in the second innings to keep his career average above 50.

Proper mauling before the end, with Flangelo getting out on the stroke of close. Good for the series, though.

Thirimanne is bloody frustrating and Tharanga's still shit.

good effort by the Stannies to keep the Lankans to a moderate day after the openers provided a solid platform....7 of the 8 wickets fell to the quicks

Looks a decent effort by the Wackies to have the Lankans in a spot of bother on the usually Jaya-run-laden SSC deck.

Junaid looks a quality bowler. I'd like to see him and a re-instated Amir operating in tandem.

Pakistan proving to be almost as bad at bowling to the tail as England. Wasim and Waqar would never have allowed this.
What the f*ck has happened to the yorker?? It remains an extremely effective delivery.

Are you watching this Trev? Or just going on the Dickinfo commentary?
A decent tail wag.

Cricinfo. Can't be f*cked getting bombarded by pop ups trying to watch the dodgy link. What am I missing? Are Pakistan actually bowling exceptionally without luck?

In modern cricket, it does seem that the bowlers who can clean up the tail are harder to find. Steyn is easily the best. Midge pretty good too.

Yeah, I don't know what the f*ck Cook was going on about there. That's 2011 "legacy" talk, that is, when we're one test away from drawing the series with a poor Indian side, having lost to Sri Lanka in our own conditions earlier in the Summer. Now is NOT the time to be bigging up your players too much, Mr Cook.
Also, if Cook fails to make a score in this game, there will still be immense pressure on him to keep his spot. One shaky 90 and a 70 at the Ageas Bowl and everyone was acting as if he's well back in form again- He's not. What's he averaging in his last 12 or so tests? 28?
