Good Lord, yet another shit fight between the Windies Board and the players raises its ugly head. Deary me.
Lankans to fill the Test component breech with 5 JAMODIs in November.
And in other new Coaly leads the Bannies to a win in the 5th JAMODI.

What are they doing? This isn't just pulling out of a tour, it's pulling out of a tour in India, against India. It's career suicide. For a start, the West Indies wont be invited to play in India for a long, long time, and secondly, the likes of Bravo and Pollard will likely have their IPL contract torn up.
This just comes across as a shit side wanting to be treated like a great side. They don't have my sympathy when half the time it looks like they don't even want to be out there on the field.

Aye, Trev, but the WICB and the players have long not given a toss about each other's welfare.

The Sri Lankans get treated just as badly, if not worse by their Board. But they still front up and play. Much to my admiration. Hell, here they are being asked to interrupt their holidays to fill in for the spoilt brat Windies players by playing a five match ODI series early next month. And Sri Lanka had already played a huge amount of cricket this year. Shows the value of having good men like Sanga and Mahela in and around the side. The Windies don't have players with anything close to the level-headedness and good grace that those two have displayed for all these years.
Let's consider the "plight" of the top Windies players- Dwayne Bravo, Chris Gayle, and Kieron Pollard all have IPL contracts worth close to, or more, than $1 million. Their beef is that the WICB is taking money away from the West Indies players, in order to give more money to first class cricketers in the West Indies. Is that really so bad? Yes, the WICB is very bad at organising and communicating with players, but losing a couple of thousand bucks here and there shouldn't hurt the top Windies players too much, because as I said- Most of them get paid very well by various T20 teams around the World as it is.
Boycotting this tour suddenly, without sufficient notice (so that the WICB could at least have a reserve team on standby) is very poor form. They will regret it in years to come, as they've managed to seriously piss off the BCCI.

The Telegraph are reporting that abandoning the series will cost the BCCI the fat end of £31 million. This will end in court and it will not end happily for West Indies cricket.

Why haven't they sent Floyd Reifer and his team of ringers again to complete the series?

They won't have their IPL contracts torn up, that is a bit of an exaggeration.Henry wrote:What are they doing? Well the BCCI will sue the WICB, and the WICB will demand that the players pay back the BCCI out of their own pockets.

Maybe they can set off those damages against the losses and compounded interest from when 5 Indians were "retired hurt" in the 70s..

The worrying part for me is the scheduled WI tour of SA. Because of the WC it is the only tests scheduled for the summer.

The future of the West Indies as a Test nation has to be in question now, maybe infighting will eventually split them into separate island nation associates?
This won't be the way Shiv Chanderpaul would have wanted his career to end, if that proves to be the case, after 20 years of dedicated service to the struggling Caribbean cause.
