Macca has to call time shortly.

5 down by tea at least. Yes, that was really quite pathetic. Really quite pathetic. I hope it will quell any positivity from the media and sections of fans, who have very short memories indeed. This is pretty much the same team who has been stuttering along for the past
couple of years. Not much has changed, however many articles that came out a week ago were telling you. Astonishing it was.

Pitch looks to be playing pretty true today - whereas last night it started playing a few tricks. Will it start doing so again when the effect of the roller wears off?
If the pitch holds up and overhead conditions are OK I think England could make a good fist of this.

Anybody know what the financial penalties will be if we chop the First Test out of the hardarsed tightwad Aussies' schedule, and hand a third Test to these highly competitive Kiwis, who play the game in the right sporting spirit? Two Tests is just silly.

Aye, would rather the Aussies sorted out a 2-0 win at the start of the summer and then have 5 competitive tests against an entertaining and good spirited NZ team.
And there's a reason no one has ever chased a total this high, test cricket has been around for a long time and this England team aren't going to be breaking any records. If we play well we might get 300 or so but we aren't going to chase it down.

Fine, maybe a couple of Empires. But that was a long time ago.

Lots of talk in the Sky box about slip fielders and how Lyth fields there for Yorkshire. Moeen is also a specialist slip fielder, so there are options if Bell is cast out into the outfield.

Can't complain really, it's shitting it down in sunny N'pton. Maybe we should've held the Test in Norfolk.... heard it's lovely here.

I'll be so annoyed if rain robs NZ of a victory here.
