Top game for Chef. Failed in 1st dig, stood at 1st slip watching Sheep pile up 400+, then failed in the 2nd dig.

Looks a long shot for England to save this unless it rains. We don’t deserve to, anyway. A bit of fight would be nice though, take it to tea (or whatever they call it in pink ball language!) at least.

Bairstow gets himself out; Stokes carries England's honour forward.

Ali gone on the stroke of 'tea'. Two sessions remain, 4 wickets to fall.

Damn, Stokes and Woakes didn't get the memo about this all being over.

As if by magic, as soon as I submitted that, Wagner nabs Stokes in the last over before Tea.

Interesting question - could Smith be out of the game for a longer time than Stokes?

No doubt about it. ICC have done nothing in either case so it’s down to attitudes of the relevant boards. GBH is not an issue ...

Meanwhile, only Sturat and Jimmikins stand in the way of a Snoozie victory now.

Well done them.
On another note, it's sad that NZ only merits a 2-test series versus Blighty now.

I think you meant that England only merit a 2-Test series v NZ now.

Surprised they shoehorned this in at the end of an Ashes winter. I don’t remember this happening before. I’d rather we had a decent series in NZ rather than another of the lambs to the slaughter trips to subcontinental dust bowls, but commercial pressures tell I guess.
