All-Time “Sons” XI
A spin-off to the other thread... only qualification is that their father (or mother, for that matter, though I haven’t found any examples of that) was also an international cricketer.
No grandsons, nephews etc. unless they also meet the sons criteria (e.g. Pollock).
Batting looks a bit flaky, lots of good on their day high-30s-average players, and no specialist spinner, but a very handy seam attack...
Mudassar Nazar
Tom Latham
Alec Stewart*
Sanjay Manjrekar
Yuvraj Singh
Jonny Bairstow+
Richard Hadlee
Shaun Pollock
Stuart Broad
Ryan Sidebottom
Simon Jones

Re: All-Time “Sons” XI
Clearly Aussie Test cricketers don't have strong Test Cricket genes in their mayo, given the low number of father/son combos in Aus history.
The sons probably sensibly thought "slave for 5 days in the sun for beer money - fark that".

Yeah, the lack of Aussies was noticeable. Have any sons of Australian cricket greats excelled at other sports?skully wrote:Clearly Aussie Test cricketers don't have strong Test Cricket genes in their mayo, given the low number of father/son combos in Aus history.

Three generations of Meulemans for WA - Ken, Bob, Scott.
Craig McDermott, Alister and Ben.
Dennis and Adam Lillee! (Adam took international wickets!)
There must be lots of offspring at first class level.

Liam Botham, of course, played FC cricket before opting for a rugby career (which was injury curtailed before he got any full international honours).
