All-Time “Sons” XI

A spin-off to the other thread... only qualification is that their father (or mother, for that matter, though I haven’t found any examples of that) was also an international cricketer.

No grandsons, nephews etc. unless they also meet the sons criteria (e.g. Pollock).

Batting looks a bit flaky, lots of good on their day high-30s-average players, and no specialist spinner, but a very handy seam attack...

Clearly Aussie Test cricketers don't have strong Test Cricket genes in their mayo, given the low number of father/son combos in Aus history.

The sons probably sensibly thought "slave for 5 days in the sun for beer money - fark that".

Some wierd cartoon show I used to watch with my son.  Preferred "the hoobs" personally but anything was better than " the tellietubbies".

Alison Inverarity (John) won a Comm Games gold in high jump ....still the Oz record holder with a 1,98m jump in 1994

Ok that didn't read well.  I blame Hawkeye.

Liam Botham, of course, played FC cricket before opting for a rugby career (which was injury curtailed before he got any full international honours).

Beefy’s grandson is a promising Welsh rugby player...
