I think cricketers who became commentators should be banned from this thread.

Otherwise nobs like Slater & Crappelli would get a run.

The thread is actually about people who were "better known in other fields, but also played cricket at a decent level" & NOT the reverse - well known cricketers who did other things. So, cricketers who became commentators are definitely not to be mentioned. Also, commentators & umpires are still involved in the general cricket-related field.

Duncan Thompson

Played Rugby League for Australia & Queensland. Also a member of the "Galloping Clydesdales" team from Toowoomba that defeated England.

Played cricket for Valleys & Returned Soldiers in the Brisbane First Grade competition. Also represented Toowoomba against the MCC in 1924/25.
