He was the star of the 1990 FIFA World Cup claiming the Golden Boot as the leading goalscorer & the Golden Ball as player of the tournament.

... and they named a champion horse after him!

Schillaci's legend was from a period in my life when I was really into Italy's Serie A. Woody and I shared this passion. The premier Italian League was probably the best in the world at that time. Dutch, Argentinian and German stars were rife.
