Re: Indians don't have to beat themselves off
The ICC has now written to the Indian organisers of the World Cup complaining about mishandling of ticket sales and distribution.
FFS, what were they expecting?

Pretty f*cking woeful eh?
Still, it does go to show that wherever they are in the world, Indians are liable to receive a good kicking.

Aye but surely home beatings don't count as much as away?Brass Monkey wrote:Pretty f*cking woeful eh?

Either way we're going to have to lift our game; this is a serious challenge.

Away beatings count double in the event of a draw.

Re: Indians don't have to beat themselves off
There is a bigger scandal at work. For one thing the Bangalore venue has 50,000 capacity and yet only 4,000 [by some reports 8,000] tickets were kept for sale which why this situation arose. So wtf happened to the rest and who benefited? And just today morning a couple of Chinnawamy Stadium officials were arrested for selling tickets in black. Tickets worth 500 bucks were being touted out for 5000 by insiders. BCCI has a lot to answer for how tickets are sold and how much are set aside for genuine viewing public.

It's pretty sickening that over 80% of tickets are given away to sponsors for this match. The final will probably be worse.

Re: Indians don't have to beat themselves off
Aye, it's not exclusive to cricket, India or the World Cup in general. Apparently there will be only 15,000 tickets available between the two Chumpion's League finalists' supporters at Wembley, out of 90,000. Sign of the times morelike and a f*cking disgrace it is. Makes supporting them a whole lot more difficult (theoretically, WTF would a Cobblers supporter know). Shows how much sport has gone to pot really.
Re: Indians don't have to beat themselves off
I know all too well it's not exclusive to cricket (I benefitted from it when I was younger by getting to a few FA Cup finals) however it's not that bad in other sports, and 15,000 isn't quite right for the Champions League final, 25,000 for each club is also available.

That article quotes 25,000 for each set of supporters in the final and 11,000 for the general public.
Like I say, it's still pretty sh!tty but not as bad as the world cup in India right now.

Re: Indians don't have to beat themselves off
your chances of getting a world cup final ticket are pretty slim. in the 33,000 seater wankhede only 4,000 are to be sold to the general public in a lottery system. 8,500 will go to the icc for its sponsors and 20,000 odd will be given to local cricket clubs in bombay to be distributed amongst their members in a lottery system
