County Cricket 2011 Season (II)

Yoda would have difficulty following Danny sometimes.
Would need to be passed through an Enigma.
Twice.
Ahhhh, you've got me back - touche good sir!
Let me build the scene for you:
Northants were drilling Hants like some two-bit pornstar. Nick Knight on commetary. The camera switched to Dominic Cork, who is the captain of Hants... the skipper, some might say. Nick Knight says "Bad day for the kipper". It was comedy gold. But I expect you had to be there.
NOW it makes sense.
Worrying ...

Sri Lanka 138-0.
Well done Lions. Took the old Richie Benaud captaincy mantra of "do what the opposition would least like you to do" and gave it a brilliantly incompetent English twist.

Turning Benaud on his head, in other words. Totally duaneb decisionmaking. (*)
(*) duaneb - like dweeb, only more irritating.

Yorks effectively 8-4 at lunch.
Not sure Lancs have the firepower (or Yorks the wetness) to close it out.
Over half a day lost to rain yesterday is likely to cost the Red Rose dear ....

Tykes finally all out, after some stout defence in the middle of the innings, but a bit too late for Lancs.
15 over thrash for about 120, without any fielding restrictions - hmmm.

4 wickets away from completing said "dicking over" of the Middlemen.
Harris with 8 wickets in the match so far, would be criminal for him to miss out on a 10fer. Especially as the fielding was very much below par today.

Owais Shah starts his Essex career by getting run out.
Who saw that coming?
150* for Stokes. Give that boy a go in the ODIs.

Chris Benham is surely worth some country snapping up rather than some mediocre kolpaker?

He was always rated at Hants. Warnie used to give him big raps.
But he just never happened. At least not regularly.
I mean, his FC average of 27 is pants, but he's good for some 35 in one-day stuff - not shabby at all.
Re: County Cricket 2011 Season (II)
Gorblimey guvna. Stokes has certainly fanned the selection flames in ODIs. One does not see too many innings like that.
Re: County Cricket 2011 Season (II)
What's that, about four blistering hundreds across the various formats so far this season for the young man?
Nice.
Nice.

Three.
Championship:
135* off of 145 balls.
120 off of 136 balls.
FPT:
150* off of 113 balls.
Impressive.
Shame his bowling's piss.
Re: County Cricket 2011 Season (II)
Batting's obviously the stronger suit, but he's a strong boy who looks like he's bowls a heavy nad. There's some bowling talent to work with, I think.
Re: County Cricket 2011 Season (II)
Agree, his bowlings piss in the way Freddies bowling was utter bilge pre-2002

Re: County Cricket 2011 Season (II)
I've seen him get it up there at a decent lick, 87 was his fastest (last year), maybe quite a bit to work with. Currently though, when he's been on the TV, he's a combo of half-volleys and half-trackers. You'd trust his ginger-in-crime to keep it tighter.....
Re: County Cricket 2011 Season (II)
I doubt England are going to pick anybody with 1 one-day hundred to their name. They still haven't picked my man Jimmy Taylor and he's a god compared to his one-day domestic contemporaries. Three hundreds and an average of 48. Where is he? WHERE THE F*CK IS HE YOU STUPID FAT C*NTS? GET HIM IN THE F*CKING TEAM OR THE JESUS LOOKALIKE GETS IT. On a slightly less serious note, the lack of regular one-day hundreds from prospective England players is somewhat disappointing. Three or four seems to be about the max for the younger guys looking to force their way into the side. Not good enough.
Craig Kieswetter is the only guy the right side of 25 whose record impresses me greatly.

SiJo in the news today for reasons other than getting injured - bowled two beamers and removed from the attack by umpire Bumble Jnr. Had gone for 61 off 7.2 overs at that stage.

2nd in Division sh!t (sorry Division Two). Let's hope Northants choke like they did in the Heineken Final. Even better if they did so in Cardiff.

We haven't the capacity to host such an event as the Heineken Cup Final... we just have the team to get there.....

How did your team fare in said cup? Pardon?
