A Tough day at the office
My boss has decided we need a 'Team building exercise'.
So tomorrow the whole office is heading down the d'Entrecasteaux Channel on a luxury 23m Catamaran Cruiser with a stopoff at a four star restaurant for lunch before we head out for a spot of Whale & Dolphin watching.....and the boss is picking up the whole tab.
Its tough but someone has to do it (linky)

See, the current new crop just don't get that. It's all "me, me, me" and not putting in for the man. No wonder the country's going to the dogs. Big Dogs, that is.

There has to be a catch somewhere.

More seriously, how does watching whales build a team?
Are you setting out in the long boat and harpooning?

....well, there is a disused Whaling station nearby but mostly its all about getting on the turps at the boss's expense.

don't expect BD to post any time soon. I expect him to be nursing a massive vilkrangover after this managerial largesse ...

Re: A Tough day at the office
Well i survived & managed to keep myself reasonably respectable and i can report that lots of teams were built.
Perfect day with clear blue Sky's and an invigorating Autumn crispness in the air. We were welcomed aboard & ushered to the Captains deck where champagne cocktails were waiting. (Yes it was only 10.30am but who gives a toss)
We meandered down the mighty Derwent estuary & into the d'Entrecasteaux Channel where they dropped an underwater camera over the side to give us pictures of some of the biggest, fattest Tassie Lobsters i have ever seen...i mean, these suckers were $150.00 animals in the best Sydney restaurants. We'd just broached the second bottle of a rather excellent Tassie Pinot Noir when we stopped again to witness at close hand, two magnificent Sea Eagles catching fish.
So on to the country riverside Restaurant for a leisurely lunch (& a few more Pinots)
& a relaxing trip home. No Whales to report unfortunately as its probably a bit early in the season but plenty of 'dead marines'...but that was the purpose of the exercise.

Re: A Tough day at the office
Sounds like a boss I had in a previous job. He drove a tight ship and cracked the whip hard, but when we played, we played hard (within reasonable limits, of course).

It seems i had the only camera on board. Needless to say, some of the more embarrassing shots will be available for re-purchase by the subjects before they hit the office intranet...at very reasonable rates of course.

The old (refurbished) Woodbridge tavern aka Peppermint Diner, or Kettering?
... both very fine establishments where I've consumed my share and more in the past.
