Re: 3rd Test: England vs Australia, Headingley
Brearley as you would expect placing his field with meticolous care
Ouch! Rears onto Marsh's thigh. Next one tucked off his hip for 1, and its a no ball
Re: 3rd Test: England vs Australia, Headingley
Dyson looking solid....
And oh my word! He went for the hook and gloved it through to Taylor. Willis' fourth wicket - 68/6!

Ray Bright. Good beard.
Fended off his nose outside off..... and another no ball!
An experienced customer, considered almost an all rounder in the Sheffield Shield... maybe not in Test Class,,,,

Fended behind point for 1 by Bright, Goldenhair Gower does the fielding.

Rapid from Wiilis and just missing leg stump.
Next ball tests out the splice.
Willis, he has hair! A wide bouncer outside off. Ohhhhh!
Fended behind point by Bright. Who has a big white 'C' on the back of his bat. 57 to win.

Re: 3rd Test: England vs Australia, Headingley
Clipped away just past the despairing dive of leg gully for one.
Hooked by Marsh, Dilley backpedals... "And he's caught it!" CMJ sounds happy and good camerawork from those 1980s cameramen. Hooked off his eyebrows to Dilley.

Lawson wearing a perspex screen helmet.
Slightly short by Old and clipped off leg for one.
Edged, one bounce to Botham at 3rd slip.

Re: 3rd Test: England vs Australia, Headingley
Old nibbles a jaffer in to Bright, takes the glove, the flap of the pad and bounces just short of the keeper.
Old next ball rears one into the gloves, Bright somehow fends away form short leg. Two more dots, over.

Old an accurate foil for Willis, he's now taken 7-1 off 7 overs
Re: 3rd Test: England vs Australia, Headingley
Quick, on a length, outside off and nicked!
Another wicket, Lawson out and Willis as another wicket.

As I was reading Gaz's hateful recounting of that hateful day, my thoughts were to post "Enough of this quntish display, Gaz".Zat wrote:Gaz, you've crossed the line from funny to quntishness with extreme prejudice.

Bit of a cliffhanger, this.
It ended with me falling asleep. When I woke up it was a decade later and The Lions were playing South Africa.
Re: 3rd Test: England vs Australia, Headingley
Are you sure you didn't wake up 80 years earlier and the multinational Lions were playing the Boers?

So we'll never know? Perhaps we can make up our own ending.
The butler did it. With a silver cloche.
