Mohammad Junaid Khan
Anyone else see this lad over the last couple of nights playing for Lancs in the T20s?
He was far too good for both Northants & Warwicks batsmen at the death, and was instrumental in getting us out of jail, so to speak.
None of the now popular "slow bouncer" AKA half volley sh!t (which every half-decent bat is now aware of & generally gives them what they deserve), just good old-fashioned full length bowling homing in on the batsmans toes at pace. Even if they dug the ball out, if they were lucky it squirted away for a single. Englands bowlers could do a lot worse than copy him.
At just 21, he reminds me of a young Wasim Akram. He's played 7 ODI's, and I don't think it will be long before he makes his Test debut.

He's not as talented as Amir, but a decent prospect.

Agreed Trev, I thought Amir was one of the best young bowlers I've seen for ages ..... but without regular cricket against decent players for the next few years, I fear he won't now fulfil that potential.

He's very good, yes, very good. Still, I'd have liked to have seen him bowl against someone other than that shitbag David Willey who was frankly like a number 11 the other night. That little step back to leg to smack it through the off-side didn't work once or twice, try something different mate, no? Same again? Same result you say? Well there we go, David, there we go. You gigantic qunt.
Re: Mohammad Junaid Khan
He did actually bowl the slower ball bouncer though, but the pertinent point is that it wasn't the stock ball !

He can do a shitbag up like a kipper.
He seems to be Wasim's protege' of sorts, Growler. Which would explain some similarity.

Aye, i was watching that thinking that maybe the second or third time he'd try moving the other way. But nope, just kept trying the same thing.

Yeah, really pitiful. You'd think to just get anything on it and let the experienced man have a swipe, leg-bye, anything. Even run and risk the keeper getting you out. It's not like he was playing his first season. Pathetic. He is now dead to me.

Whereas you are still cleaning out the bones of Willey, like a hyena on a mission.

Well, it's only been 36 hours. It's not like this is next year's comp and I'm banging on about it!

It's the only cricket on, with relevance to us Anglos. Being an Anglo comp and all. Which makes it still miles better than Corrie or Benders.
Re: Mohammad Junaid Khan
Aye Peter, you probably know we signed him on Wasim's recommendation.
Apparently he may also play some Championship cricket for us too, later on.
His FC record is decent too - 168 wickets @ 21 in 36 matches, at economy of 3.01 striking every 7 overs. 13 michelles and 3 tenfers.
Of course, what we desparately need is a decent top/middle order bat. Yes we've been winning games, but I can see us coming runners up by about a dozen points. We simply aren't scoring big enough first up, as shown by the batting bonus points (or lack thereof) in the standing table.
Danny, believe me I was probably even more shocked than you were at the result on Tuesday ..... yes for 3/4 of the innings we made life hard for your bats, but with 3 overs left I thought we were gone.....

Re: Mohammad Junaid Khan
As Lever said, to not at least try to sacrifice wickets to get ahead of the rate was criminal. But, we've been wholly pathetic this year in T20, so I shouldn't have been as surprised as I was.
Yeah, Junaid looks the bizzle. Lancs should be paid to bring him on though

I would like to see his action in super slo-mo. It might just be an ultra cocked wrist, but then again..........

I've seen that Baz and I'd say that I'm reasonably definite it's a wrist thing.
