Emerging Players Tournament to date
If Aussie supporters were seeking solace from these performances in the annual tournament between the emerging players from oz, SA, India and NZ they won't necessarily be satisfied. They've been some encouraging signs such as the Maxwell ton but considering it's in our own backyard, perhaps not enough. Scoreboards to date below.

Looks like we've gone a bit rubbish. And quite a few sprogs of former NZ players involved.

They're on to the four day matches now. The first two below are the current matches (after one day). The previous two constitute last week's round. On balance to this point over the three formats, India and SA are the standouts.

Big chance missed here Red, you could have actually contributed to thevforum in a meaningful way, by giving some sort of précis of the matches.
Now let me say it slowly for you.

It's like this Zat, either way I can't win. If I cut and paste, I get lambasted for it. If I make comments they get belittled and deserve a NTR accompaniment. So I leave it up to people to look at the scoreboards if they want to and form some opinions. Interesting to note that Holland who is touted as a big hope hasn't excelled himself yet.
It seems that India and NZ are fielding some more seasoned players than the opposition. Pienaar who made the super quick triple ton in Ireland has followed it up with a 5/37 against the young Aussies in the current match.

In the SA v Australia game (link), None of the Australian batsmen excelled, with two lower-order 50's the only interest for statisticians. Holland, who has already been touted for higher honours, managed a golden gozza. Neither Beaton nor Abbott, who have had some FC exposure, did much ...

If you cut and paste articles, and don't add anything (context as to why you've posted it, or your opinion of what you've posted, you deserve everything you get. Better option is to pick the main point or points from the article and paste them, provide a link to the rest of the article, and give your opinion, or some brief sort of statement.Red wrote:It's like this Zat, either way I can't win. If they deserve it, they get it. If you give your own opinion*, instead of regurgitating/paraphrasing what others think, you might be surprised. Give it a go.If I make comments they get belittled and deserve a NTR accompaniment. So I leave it up to people to look at the scoreboards if they want to and form some opinions.
FWIW, this was about the best stuff you've posted in, well, possibly ever. And not a 'NTR' in sight.Interesting to note that Holland who is touted as a big hope hasn't excelled himself yet.

* I reserve the right to get well stuck in when you do the smug Collingwood supporter thing on here. I don't know any valid reason why I'd treat you differently from any other smug Collingwood supporter.

Oz certainly behind in this match. Holland took 3/93. None of the other bowlers really starred but SA's Hendricks made an unbeaten 222.

We ended up drawing the match with SA but they had the upper hand throughout. Carters, who has had some first class exposure top scored with seventy.

Meh. This tournament's full of God-bothering knuckle-draggers, plucky jokers with speech impediments, squinty nasal semen-coughers and lazy clowns with superiority-complexes.

India wasted NZ. Consistent performers all round got it home. NZ came out with -3 points. India took the spoils. Not great for the kiwis given that they seem to be fielding a more experienced team than the others.

In the final round of matches the Indians are smashing the emerging Aussies. Apart from Maddison, a pretty ordinary scorecard but then our bowlers got pulverised. India in a commanding position.

In the SA vs. Kiwi match Hendricks is heading for his second successive double ton.

Hendricks did get his double ton, while Levi got a ton. SA finished with the upper hand over NZ.
The young Aussies did better in the second dig with Carters scoring a ton and a couple of half tons from Maxwell and Armstrong but India was the stronger team.
