It's difficult to see what other sort of pitch might suit them at the mo.

Indeed Pete. As many of us said prior to the series, it would be decided by how well our bowlers do against their pretty formidable looking batting line-up. First blood to the Aus quicks.

I'm guessing they won't have the hide or the balls to serve up another bunsen after the Galle debacle. But a flat deck will probably suit Aus because their quicks are a bit pop-gunnish and their spinners won't threaten. Maybe 2 draws on offer.

Having said that, our 2nd Test line up looks even more fragile with Drunky back in Aus waiting to catch the after-birth.

Drunky is a bit hard on the old double-headed drongo, after all these years. And considering he is not even responsible for miscaptaining the national side any more.

Once one gets a disparaging handle, it's hard to shake.

And his recent form has not warranted a more generous nick, AFAIC.
