"Mr Holder described the $1.5m (£960,000) assassination plot as being "conceived, sponsored and directed by Iran", and said Tehran would be held accountable for its alleged involvement."
Fark.

Just be grateful George W isn't President, otherwise the bombs would be falling on Tehran now.

I wouldn't rule it out in the near future. In purely political terms, Obama has an election and has been attacked for being weak on defense before. What better time to make a statement?
I say again. Fark.

Not a chance I'd say. He rode into Washington with a promise to start bringing the boys home. To then commit forces to an additional theatre of operation would be political suicide.

Worse than appearing weak when an assasination attempt is made on US soil?
I suppose the people that voted him weren't your redneck-lets-f**k-the-world-hillbillies so you might be right.
Still, interesting few weeks coming up I would suspect.

I should have read more carefully before going all Daily Mail,it was a Saudi Ambassador so war is almost certainly out of the question.

Lots of tough talking but little else I suspect. Unless they covertly sub-contract out a military strike to the Israelis. Then watch it hit the fan!

From what I've seen, any succesful assassination would have taken out many lives apart from the Saudi Ambassador - so the discussion is still valid.

Yeah I just read a bit more and saw the bit about the bomb.
You could almost say I'm not very well informed.

Yeah, I was there. He got annoyed because apparently the rep system was destroying the forum.
That isn't an exaggeration by the way, he literally said that the reputation system was going to be the end of FB.

He was probably peeved at not being repped as much as he would have liked - the poor wee boy.

His parting shot was to give me minus 25 rep points, which is the most you can do in a day. You also have to wait 30 seconds between each neg rep, so he spent nearly a quarter of an hour doing it.
Never quite understood his venom towards me. I still have a suspicion that we went to the same school in Nottingham and I had wronged him in some way....

It's more strait-laced than this place for sure. I sometimes post there because of the greater volume of chat about domestic cricket. I don't think anyone else from here bothers with it though.

I browse it now and again. S'ok...
I'd love Forest to appoint Roy Keane as manager.... Gus might even come back then for a rant

Or Steve Kean when he inevitably gets the boot from Blackburn

Checked there a few days ago and I think remember him being one of the favourites then so if he's slipped that much it probably won't happen.
Hate Roy Keane though despite him being ex-Forest. Which boosts his chances considerably due to the footballing conspiracy aimed solely at annoying me.
