Not a bad looking Wallabies lineup. Unfortunately, none of them WILL be lining up. That is the list of current injured players. It will definately be an Australia B side that will take on the unpredictable Puma's tonight. Impossible to say who will win this one.
It's a great point BD. At least 4 or those are first XV automatics & with our lack of truly world class players, that's a shedload.

You have all those injured players. On our side, Zane Kirchner and Morne Steyn remain resolutely free of medically detectable injuries. Those factors should more or less balance each other.Big Dog wrote:Bump

Re: Four Nations Rugger......
Wobblies were predictably belted by the Boks 31-8 & suffered another bout of injuries. Its hard to see Australia being competetive for the rest of the series. The team to face Argentina will barely be able to claim Aust B status.
Now the Wallabies are wondering if they will have enough fit players for tomorrow's flight to Argentina and next weekend's Test against the Pumas in Rosario after losing fullback Berrick Barnes (chest), centre Adam Ashley-Cooper (concussion), No 8 Radike Samo (shoulder), winger Digby Ioane (kneecap) and hooker Tatafu Polota-Nau (shoulder). Several of these injuries looked serious, which will force the Wallabies selectors to call for reinforcements from home.

We won this time, but Zane Kirchner and Morne Steyn still lurk in the wings...

Better than in previous weeks, admittedly - but of the two he isn't my main bugbear.

Well done Wallabies for a gutsy win away against the Argies.
And a big GFY to the Argies in the crowd who were shining lasers into Mike Harris' face as he was about to take a penalty kick.

Yes the All Blacks remain far too good for the other countries but the depleted Aussies have done well to finish ahead of the woeful Springboks and the Argies.

'Sportsmanship' is quite simply not a word that Argentinians understand.
Yet they still go and lose everything.

Top effort from the Wobblies 2nd XV. Serves me right for tipping the Argies.
Re: Four Nations Rugger......
Heading up to Bris vegas for the dead rubber Bledisloe game tomorrow. Getting shouted premium tickets & accomodation otherwise i would'nt have bothered. Be nice to have a XXXX off the wood at the Breakky Creek pub if nothing else.
Re: Four Nations Rugger......
Enjoy. Hopefully we can score a try this time.

Not holding my breath. Not even taking my wobblies jersey to wear to the game. Just hoping the 2nd XV can avoid complete embarrassment.

Usually Aus beat NZ in the end of season dead-rubber. They must be disappointed.

Not a great spectacle but it sounds like a grouse weekend wasn't ruined by a loss.Big Dog wrote:Heading up to Bris vegas for the dead rubber Bledisloe game tomorrow. Aye, happened in 2010 or last year. 18 straight wins after cruising past Serbia.

Aye...its was a great weekend. Weather was fantastic. Game never reached any great heights but the atmosphere at the ground was great, especially when we hit the front & it looked like we might pull off an unlikely win. The best part was walking back up Caxton street & seeing the greatly subdued Kiwi hordes crying into their beers & wondering what happened.
