They'll have friends soon enough. Probably a lot more if they stop parachuting party hacks into seats they previously didn't know existed.

A lot of oncers short term renting some real juicy job for life seats.

Overseas at the mo.  But his aides insist if there ever was a meeting proposed in return for cash he wouldn't have had a bar of it.

"We don't do facetime for cash anymore" said said aide.  "Not now we can sell knighthoods again."

Actually I think he is still kicking around. Had a bit of publicity due to a book about the era getting flogged endlessly in the local press.

Des Sturgess, the DPP at the time of the Fitzgerald inquiry came out and said he felt sorry for him. Farking moron. Up there with Beattie giving Joh a state funeral. Sturgess though will forever be loved in the Territory as "the man who got the dingo off."

Beattie unforgivably also used over $200k in Home and Community Care (HACC) funds per year to give the old goat round the clock nursing care...in the standard banjo irony, Qld got under the odds in HACC funding because Joh delayed in the chips' sign up by three years - Joh said it was a socialist plot

Yep, at least acc to Wiki....born Leap Year Day 1928, which would make him 86 (or about 237 if years were measured the same as votes in the Joh Age). He was only the 14th person since the Middle ages to be stripped of a knighthood (also acc to wiki).

(So you can tell the neither late nor lamented former Sir Terry Lewis FFS from all the other Terry Lewis FFS's, Wiki calls him a 'police officer'. A bit like Sweeney Todd was a 'hairdresser', or Sir Jimmy S (who may and should become No 15) a 'radio announcer'.)

Oh dear - BOF not having a good day in ICAC.  Denies receiving a $3000 bottle of Grange only to be shown a delivery receipt and phone records.

Yeah but isn't lying to ICAC like lying to your mother-in-law. No harm, no foul.

ICAC gets another Liberal Premier.

There must be more to it than the Grange.

Shame for NSW - at least BOF was a moderate and was willing to stand up to the Tea Partiers in Canberra.   We now run the risk of getting another Peter Debnam.

Word is Mike Baird is the likely replacement.

At least we'll have a former investment banker running the place.
