I am sneezing like a horse....

A few days ago a woman almost dropped her cellphone after hearing my sneeze, a couple of weeks ago three construction workers instantaneously stopped drilling after a similar event! It is really not that LOUD and I am tired of these “Holy cows” and “WOWS” instead of a simple “bless you”!

Plus for the last 3 days or so i have been sneezing at least 4 times an hour. It is quite painful now

Any suggestions??

Sorry to hijack your thread PP; hey Ngam, this is a quote from a story by Mike Selvey in on Monty Panesar in The Guardian- Linky.

At Northampton, he was the unknowing butt of derision from uncouth overseas players not in the same league as cricketers. He has always had to fight his corner.

The "he" in the quote above refers to Monty. The interesting part is that Selvey says that the derision came from players on his own team and (somewhere in the comments) that it was in a foreign language.

Elsewhere in the comments speculation about Seth Effricans (Nicky Boje) and the Paksters abound....

I could look at Northants overseas players over the years, but am too lazy....any guesses who they could be?

I think Selvey could be talking shit, he's quite good at that. But if it's true, I'm not sure. Lance Klusener, Johann Louw, Andrew Hall, Nicky Boje, Riki Wessels, Johan van der Wath are the main 'Sefricans' we've had. Doubt it would be Hall, but who knows.

Wessels is Aussie which is why he couldn't Kolpak.

Wessels, Louw, Thunderfart, and Boje (as regards danger as a spinner) would be the obvious candidates for "not in the same class" as Monty, when in form at least.

I doubt Selvey would make that jibe against Zulu or Hall, who have been quality cricketers (though the former a bit nutty, and the latter now finally over the hill).

I haven't seen Selvey talk or write much shit, except when tweeting off the cuff (where nobody avoids at least the odd idiocy). I've always found him bright and articulate.


I'd be surprised if Boje did the finger-pointing. He didn't seem the arrogant type. Empty, on the other hand .... don't know the other two, personality wise, so can't hazard any guesses about them.

He was forced to leave us in 2010, because of new immigration regulations. Until then he was playing as a 'Kolpak', because he wasn't qualified for England but he wasn't taking up an overseas spot.

If I am wrong I apologise but at the time it was reported here it was because of the Aussie nationality. His father then hawked his ass around the SA franchises but they all told him to fark off.

I think the point is getting muddied up. Selvey mentioned overseas players. It's doubtful he's a thorough enough journalist to make the distinction between Wessels and the rest. Furry wanted overseas players that're likely be able to speak foreign in a group. He'd be part of that. FWIW I reckon he's very talented
