Predominantly American footballers, basketballers and baseballers. You know the Yanks are crazy when the no. 100 top earner "only" made $16.6M in 2012.

Seppos are weird.
They've listed Donald well above McIlroy, thought that'd have been different.

Indeed. I do follow US baseball a bit so I knew most of them but had no clue on the footballers and basketballers except for a handful.

There is something about American football which really seems to intoxicate people, putting them under a spell. That goes for a lot of immigrants too, who didn't grow up watching it or even similar sports like Aussie rules or rugby. Those are deeply into it say that that the level of strategic planning involved in it is unlike any other sport, and which also helps prevent it from getting monotonous like some other sports.

With the $85 million Floyd Mayweather got for two fights he could have his own luxury jail built.

...no, thats from the beer they drink while sitting there for 3 hours & six minutes (the average length of an NFL game) for a game that consists of four 15 minute quarters.

Immigrants tend to live in the same area and become tribal about a lot of things. American football tends to overdo the "fairy tale" factor which also appeals to immigrants. Also there aren't too many WASP names on playing lists so it obviously appeals to them as a way ahead and supporting the hometown guy, even if the hometown in question is three generations ago Athens or Warsaw.

Don't forget the insane zillions of dollars of Americacentric sponsorship.

Actually, as I perused the list I thought you and Zat would probably be aware of most of the NFL gorillas that got a mention. I'd only heard of the the likes of Brady and a few others.
