Starc to fly home Empty Starc to fly home

Post by Henry Tue 19 Mar 2013, 00:29

http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/cricket/australian-paceman-mitchell-starc-likely-to-leave-india-immediately-for-ankle-surgery/story-e6frey50-1226600257191

It just gets funnier, doesn't it. Originally (about a month ago) they thought they could manage his ankle until after the Ashes tour when a lot of us were saying he should just have the surgery now in order to be 100% right for the Ashes , but now it turns out it's flaring up worse than they thought it would and he'll go home for surgery which will likely affect his Ashes preparations.

There you go: I said he was a good player two days ago, and now he's fallen to pieces.

If only I could work out how to make this superhuman ability to turn everything to shit by talking it up benefit me in some way.

ECB aren't much better... Swann could've had his surgery 3 months ago. Just goes to show that management types aren't the geniuses they think they are.

Marx was in the ballpark when he wrote that bit about history repeating itself, first time as tragedy, second farce.

Once upon a time the Indians threatened to get on a plane and fly home. Fast forward to Aussies actually getting on planes to fly home.

Make that first time as farce, second time as farce.

The first one I'd call one of the biggest disgraces to ever happen in cricket. The second one I'd liken to Benny Hill.

Marx had too much concern for the suffering of the poor to be much interested in a sport of the elites....
