Me, I'm a Brazillian when football is concerned, unless India's involved. Which it very rarely is in my living memory, probably only once.

Yeah, I know. You stapled your allegiance at the last WC IIRC.

doremi wrote:Come on, no curiosity at all as to how the new manager gets through his first match?

Not at all. Not at all. I shall watch the highlights but the fact of the matter is Derby v Fulham would mean more and that's entirely FA. I CGAF how he gets on. He's got another 8 months of totally meanlingless games. We could win 20-0 and it has no bearing on the future at all.

The only reason I'd watch a friendly is excitement and I'm not expecting it from a conservative Capello or from the conservative Swiss. England v Argentina in Amsterdam or wherever was one of the best footie games I've seen, but all in all it was a defunkt result. We proceeded to dither through the WC and stumble like pantsheads.

Portugal have two wingers up front. Been their problem for years - lack of proper class strikers.

I'm watching Poirot. Someone just died.

Whoops. Forgot to say that Pauleta has scored about 50 goals in 90 games or something. Not bad.

I hate International friendlies, they stop all the exciting club football and the players play like they are half arsed (well England play like that most of the time), and you rarely see a good exciting friendly.

Yeah, I prefer it when they play heads and volleys.

Scores against poor teams in friendlies but doesn't turn up in the big games at the big tournaments. Not all his fault of course. Forced to play up front on his own most of the time.

"There's only one David Beckham."

Is the cry around Wembley.... yes because what we really need right now is for England to become the 'David Beckham England invitational XI'

Morons...

I like Capello and think he's an excellent manager.

I'm not just saying this because we've scored but I think you, Lever, need to give him more than half an hour to turn around our team before you start whinging.

Yeah, remember that at the moment our team is really really shite. It will take time to turn our fortunes round and Cappello is clearly a class act.

Absolutely LLL, he is a very good manager without doubt. He's got a good 8 months to shape this team and he'll need it. He hasn't got a shitload of talent to work with but I do expect he'll get us at the very least an organised hard to beat team.

Which is why McLarens tenure was criminal, looked like a bunch of strangers during the Croatia match.

Lol i got the good old chineese commentators on mine, love the way they get so excited!

What's wrong with Rooney these days just missed a sitter, he has completely lost his scoring touch.

There is one Arsenal player at Wembley and he's Swiss!

Have England put in even a half decent performance at New Wembley yet?

SWP on for Jenas, and Crouch for Cole just before the goal.

I completely disagree that he doesn't have a lot of talent to work with. He's got loads of talent. It's the way we play, not the personnel, that's the problem.
