Ravi Bopara- Why?

I'm dumbfounded that he's been picked in England Champions Trophy squad. Hasn't looked like making runs for close to a year now.

They seem to be quoting his bowling a lot - he has improved, but he's not good for 10. He's basically another ball-waster, just like the top three. A top four of them is pretty uninspiring.
But then, it'll probably wet for most of the tournament, so it may be good to pack your team with blockers.

I tend to agree.
I hear there's a guy called James Taylor. He has the same number of one day hundreds as this Asian guy in 144 fewer matches. I'm not sure if he's England qualified though. I hear he's trying to find out if he has some Saffer, Aussie or Indian in his blood. A bit of all three would be ideal. Plus a one-day average of 47 is probably not crap enough. He should stop scoring runs except when he's on Sky.
