This tournament is turning into a bit of a damp squib.

People are blaming the jet stream. Like that makes it any better.

The only thing that makes me feel better is the decreased risk of skin cancer!
Re: England v New Zealand, 11th ICCCT Match, Cardiff, 16 June, 2013
Swann has pulled up lame - think he's getting old.
Re: England v New Zealand, 11th ICCCT Match, Cardiff, 16 June, 2013
NZ won the toss & will bowl first.....not suprisingly. Southee being rested, & Swann out.
Re: England v New Zealand, 11th ICCCT Match, Cardiff, 16 June, 2013
Good old Beef. Gower and Knick Night bigging up the top three - Botham not so much.

Do we have the technology yet to drag an island country a couple of 1000 miles south?
Britain would look awesome just off the coast of Portugal.
We can't host cricket competitions here any more. Summer hasn't been seen in five years. Scientists are getting together to discuss why that is.
What they should be doing is developing a massive country-dragging machine.

It's winter here and many of my rose bushes still have healthy foliage and blooms.

Looking at the NRR, Aus will have a massive deficit to make up

Or a big foc-off roof, with lights and heaters attached to it. .

Sky lasers, evaporating precipitation before it reaches land.
Come on, science, we're giving you the answers here - get on with working out the small details.

Note slipped to the ECB:
(Schedule only matches in Cardiff that you need to draw.)

The shame of it all is, if England are only knocked out by the rain, they'll convince themselves that they were just undone by bad luck and that there's nothing wrong with their unimaginative, negative, nonsensical, failing brand of ODI cricket.
Re: England v New Zealand, 11th ICCCT Match, Cardiff, 16 June, 2013
Snap. That's what I was thinking earlier. (If in slightly less scathing tones. ...)
So I hoped there would be play. May the best (and best directed) team win, may the less skilful (and more hidebound) team lose. (Which would mean about even stefanski, advantage New Zealand on the latter point.)
Rather than a wishy-washy, whitewashing washout.

Not that it matter in the long run as after a few more years of never ending winters, our rainy island will have killed off outdoor sports in their entirely.
Re: England v New Zealand, 11th ICCCT Match, Cardiff, 16 June, 2013
Hang about. Covers coming off. Of course, we have a team that will be horribly inept in what is now effectively a T20.

Nope, Cook and Bell still opening.
Why mess with Plan A when Plan A is the only plan you've got or ever heard of?

Cook, Bell, and Trott to bravely set up the first 20 overs for a final four over assault?

FFS, I honestly can't believe they're still sticking to the same top three in a 24 over match. Ludicrous.
