A bit random ... Empty A bit random ...

Post by lardbucket Sat 06 Jul 2013, 01:52

I had a computer crash mid week (no data lost) and have subsequently had to restore from my mail server a whole lot of emails (mostly work related) from the server to an off-line mail reading list so that I can access a load of stuff off-line.

Well, amongst it is a treaure-trove of communications dating back to 2005 with all sorts on C4 and FB. I've only managed to restore all the stuff until the end of 2006 so far but I have been reduced to laughter on a few occasions already ....mostly Zim and the departed Biff Harde's fault, but a few of the other usual suspects.

According to forum etiquette I can't post any of it here, except stuff I did myself I guess, and there were bits of that that I'd long since forgotten that made me snigger too. A couple of examples:

in a thread on 'the biggest cuts in world cricket' - my contribution: Arjua Raatuga

or

songs about cricketers (an off-line thread) ... my contribution in late 2006, to be sung to the tune of The Pink Panther:

"Geraint geraint, geraint, geraint geraint geraint, geraint, geraaaaaaaaaaaint, you useless git
Geraint geraint, geraint, geraint geraint geraint, geraint, geraaaaaaaaaaaint, you useless git
Can't you catch the ball you great big steaming pile of shit?

You're laughing at your own jokes told 7 years ago?

Is that because you only just got them?

That would make sense if he originally posted them on the mainland and is now reading them in Tassie

Mostly I was laughing at comments made by others, but was also happily reminded of a few things I'd long forgotten.

You may have a point too.

You did leave several hostages to fortune with your opening posts, Lardy.

This being FB, you are lucky you are not in ribbons (yet)! Very Happy

What, archived forum pages? Had 'thunderqunt' permeated into the forum consciousness yet?

no systematic archiving of forum pages ... but commentary on some pages sent to me, and a lot of off-line banter

I have found a reference to the original 'nice tits Red' but have not found anyone with a Thor vagina yet.

Well. I never. I bet you've actually been systematically archiving.

I know that's not true - you are so regimented in your threasurrection that it's now called a 'lardation'. When did we agree to that? When you applied your skills with militant fervour

even the lardation is random. Halve the forum, see if there's anything interesting or titillating; if not half it again; if there's still nothing, half one side or the other. If there's still nothing worth lardating, have a cup of Russian Caravan and log off. Or drink 5 beers and almost looks interesting.

And it's not lardating, it's Driving The Dellorean.

I never thought I'd see Zeno's impossible heap on this forum.
