Re: The Ashes sookometer thread 2013
I must say, there's been enough controversy in the first three days of this series to last a summer.
That's probably a good thing - it's a sign the contest is close.

Have to say the sooking has not been over the top.
Perhaps because the opposing forummers respect each other so much.
I much prefer cheating when done between Australia and India. Now that is when a sookometer is required.

I disagree. The reason the match thread is getting on for 1,700 posts is because of the sooking.
Re: The Ashes sookometer thread 2013
The interesting thing about the Trott whinge is that apart from the batsman himself saying he hit it, there wasn't any evidence that he did.

Apart from the visible evidence that the ball deflected before it had the pad.

"There was no evidence of an edge on Hot Spot from the front-on angle. The Snickometer, a visual representation of the noise made as the ball makes contact with the bat, is utilised by Sky for the purposes of entertainment, but is not currently among the approved ICC aides. It did not suggest an obvious edge.

I saw a long, thin line on snicko, which is what they say you should look for when there is an edge.
