It wouldn't be an incredible Aussie win/woeful Aussie loss without....
....a Twitter tirade from one of their players. This time it's Ryan Harris, who was apparently refused entry to Perth's Crown Casino last night.
"A tip for all those heading to Perth! Avoid the crown or the casino! Shit hole. Can't get in if you have had a drink. #shitplace #dickheads,"
Surely Warnie could have called James Packer's personal phone and got security to stand down??

the Chin really seems an unpleasant human being...this stupid statement sits alonside the abuse he hurled at his team mates during the Perth test...both are sackable offences

Anybody who wears sunglasses when it's nearly dark is bound to miss things that are obvious to the rest of us....suggest Swanny's career may be headed down the river of the same name (not your local one embee - too many n's)

He must have been reading the august and righteous Flaming Bails.
Where such metaphors pass as common currency ... whenever a team loses a match by more than 5 wickets or 200 runs, or a series by a differential of more than 1 match.
Like the majority of Bailers, he is taking sport heinously too seriously. But unlike them, he is in the spotlight when at the end of his tether.
Jack-the-Lad attitudes. Fairly stupid. A dispiriting sheepheaded culture.

So acc to the laws of Twitter, that's all right then?
If Swann deletes his tired-and-emotional (drunk, stupid) tweet - all tickety-boo?

My prev fulmination on this thread still holds - lazy journos trawling for stupid comments by pissed slebs is damn near the only context in which anybody gives a rat's tossbag in hell about anything on Twatter/Faceache.
The thought came to me that maybe Swann was doing an Aker - creating a backlash for when he does get the bum's rush, 'he copped it for being unPC', etc etc ad infinitum ad whatever's next after nauseum, when anybody who'd been paying attention for longer than 5 mins would know that was crap, he mainly got the chop for being royally past it.

I very much doubt he thinks that far.
Which is precsiely part fo the trouble.
I think he's in essence a "laddish" sort, who when things are going fine is sociable, witty and amusing - when things are going badly is a clanger, a worse embarrassment (or a speeding fine) waiting to happen.
( This is not an exclusively English trait, btw ... )

While saying you were arse-raped might be a pretty common metaphor for sporting defeat down at the pub (God, I must have used it myself several times - usually with the addition of "with a red-hot poker"), it's probably not appropriate for a public space like Twitter.
But it still shouldn't be bloody headline news. Sportsmen should show a little more decorum in public, while the press and the public should show a little less outrage about it all.

Which probably explains why Darren Gough decked him on an unsuccessful (although Cronje was up one leather jacket by the end) tour of SA.
I can imagine he's an irritating little f*ck even at the best of times.

The female Graeme Swann? Or the female Ryan Harris?
And the same old perils of using the very public mouthorgan Titter to vent those splenetic moments of your private emotions.

Note too the reaction.
It seems always the same... a) expression of idiocy, b) moral outrage, all fanned by hungry journos for cash & column inches.
