He was the tour leader on the Ashes tour I did earlier in the year. He "retired" from team leading then as we'll and it was obvious that he wasn't well.

Top bloke though. Loves to talk about cricket.

I heard him announcing that as I was in transit today. Maxwell said he was trying to talk him out of it but KOK said he knows it's time and is grateful for the thirteen years he has had behind the mic.

Farewell. He was the Zahpod Beeblebrox of commentary.

I thought for one horrible mo that our team leader had given up the Bails.

Caught it in the car. Living in the middle of nowhere I just pulled up and started listening to it. By the time it was over there were another couple of cars that had done the same thing (only one radio channel).

It was pretty irresponsible of Waugh, but it provided a very memorable moment.

Crowning glory (espesh the bit around the 8.00 min mark!!) of Skull's fantastic commentary career. And we sent him out on a high at the SCG. Fitting.  

I was listening. Having sat next to skull at the Oval when the Pom crowd were singing "stand up, if you're 3-0 up..." to hear skull sing "stand up, if you're 5-0 up" today was hella grouse.
