Re: Predict the England side to play Sri Lanka
A 43 average is not too bad, I suppose. Two century stands in 30 innings.
Certainly not egregious.

Well, post-NZ, you wanted Jonathan Marc Knickershit in the side. In December, you wanted Jonathan Marc Knickershit in the side. So I doubt you'll be that sorry to see Davies in the side.
Re: Predict the England side to play Sri Lanka
Foakes is another one on their 'radar'. I have no idea about him though. Never seen him bat, never seen him keep, but he was making Lions squads before he'd even played first class cricket.

Don't rate the way MOST of the England batsmen have been shaping up against any type of bowling.
So he's on board.
On board the timewarp 1990s merry-go-round that is England international cricket.

If Matthew John Prior is permanently broken, then I see no other option out there. Apart from Craig Bedwetter and, let's face it, he's an iron-gloved hacking hand-shandy.
Re: Predict the England side to play Sri Lanka
Prior just needs some County runs early season to get straight back into the side.

Is tht Ben Dover's new name?
To throw them off the scent since he got his ass bustid?
Ben Travis is my choice for the new keeper.

He's a mess. That's all he needs to get in the side, but he's a complete mess. His last 11 or so Tests have been a total joke. Plus he's got that back-stabber taint to him. Do you want damaged, possibly dishonourable goods?

Is there any essential difference between a hand-shandy and a sherbert?

No he's a real player. We produced him. He under-19s'd it. We usually like to produce our own keepers, rather than rob them from another county.

A hand-shandy is semen. A sherbert is a weako.
Re: Predict the England side to play Sri Lanka
Is that a jibe, aimed at someone?
Anyway, I got it wrong, oddly enough it's Ben TravERS. Another ARRON Lilley then. Offshoot spelling.

Wasn't really even a jibe, just a factomundo. About Lancs.

Heck yes. Just look at Piers Morgan.
Re: Predict the England side to play Sri Lanka
I'd rather not, if you don't mind.
You weren't this much of a meanie when we 'lifted' Stephen Less or Shayne Shite.

Forget Prior.
He's done for.
If they want to re-brand, re-group, re-bollocks . . . whatever . . . it's time Buttler was given the gloves and the 7 slot to play his natural game - not huddle and block.

They weren't wicketkeepers

It's time Buttler was given the gloves.... apart from the fact he's got the foot movement and glovework of a pufferfish and has played about 7 FC games as a specialist keeper.

They might do as well as Jonny B has done.

Re: Predict the England side to play Sri Lanka
Get people to fawn over him because he's from mighty Yorkshire?
Re: Predict the England side to play Sri Lanka
Buttler gets the gig for me at keeper. He may be steel handed, and have the footwork of an Atat. He is however going to Lancs to play FC cricket and keep so may improve in the 6 months.
But at least he'll give it a whack and be interesting for a few balls.
This is preferable to the other dross we have stood behind the stumps at the moment.

Re: Predict the England side to play Sri Lanka
He can just about get away with his abject keeping in OD cricket - he'd be a gashlord in the longer format. It's easier to improve with the gloves, but he can't even put his batting together in FC cricket - averages 30 and strikes at 60.
