Re: South Africa v Australia, 2nd Test, Port Elizabeth, 20-24 February, 2014
It's pissing it down in Plett and the weather site I check is saying it is going to be raining in PE all day.
Incidentally, farking brilliant session last night. I'd be tearing my hair out if that was England, they only needed to bat out a few overs, today would have been probably been a wash out.
Sets it up beautifully for Newlands, pity this isn't a 5 match series but as 3 match series go it's been more than decent. Hoping South Africa finish the job, but most of all hoping for a good test match with no controversy and just great cricket.
Have definitely developed a soft spot for the cricket team since living here, although as I am still English when they do lose it's good to sledge my saffer mates a bit. Of course, all they need to do is say "Ashes" and it shuts me up pretty quick...

The story of Ian Bell's career.
Re: South Africa v Australia, 2nd Test, Port Elizabeth, 20-24 February, 2014
Nice. I thought you might have invoked Shane Watson; but maybe he's more the bridge player who would have won the game if he'd had just one heart.
Can we start calling Ian Bell 'Goering'?

Seemed needless but he didn't want to expose Siddle to Steyn. Ironically Elgar bowled he last over to Lyon with Steyn ready to go but in fading light.
Can't believe the last session. The minute I logged off here and went to bed Warner went out, Doolan seemed to bat himself into a rut against Duminy and then the floodgates open. There is certainly a stain on our top order.
Shocking from the middle-order regardless of how well they bowled. That's twice they've succumbed and our bowlers didn't look like reversing it.
Sets up the CT test well though.

Yes but he obviously trusted Siddle against Duminy and maybe worried that he couldn't get down to the other end later. It's interesting that Petersen was the fieldsman and the commentators said he had looked like he was dozing in the field all day. Rogers took his chances and it needed a direct hit to dislodge him. A needless run but maybe it was more a miscalculation than a brain fade.
He tried to take the run off the first ball of the over.

I never want Aust to be saved by rain. South Af deserved to win this match. Rain should be banned during cricket season.

Come on Lards. You know you can't expatriate a girl just because you don't particularly approve of her opinions.
Red knows far too much about Aussie cricket, is far too deep in its current workings, its history, to be a Pom.
And as for Red actually being Rob S, that's just Shutter Island stuff. An endless past trauma projection.

I am sure Red is Australian. It is unlikely any person outside Oz would barrack for Collingwood in the AFL.

She is quite rightly hanging her head in shame I imagine. There's a reason 450 odd hasn't been chased down, it will one day but just because a team has a decent opening partnership it doesn't make it as much of a certainty as Red seemed to think it would.
Praying for decent weather indeed .
That's not strictly true, I posted when available. I pulled up stumps before the carnage and then worked all day and don't have access to this forum at work. Am too busy anyway.
Interesting thought that Taipan himself was missing when Warner and Rogers were making merry. So I had a read of that forum that he talks about and noticed that were some very nervous Nancies among the crew, including Taipan who said he was starting to ask questions himself about the declaration.
Notice that he only reappeared here when WARNER WENT OUT!
And just for the record I don't care what gender or nationality you think I am but remain bemused that everyone else can have their identity unquestioned but mine has always been regarded as suspicious. I don't get why someone would pretend to be a woman, especially when your opinions will carry less weight.
And also check the Centurion match, Taipan went missing when the Saffers were collapsing in the second innings - missing for the duration of that carnage.
