Can the Welsh provide a better crowd than Headingley and OT?

The Welsh couldn't provide a good crowd, not even for the regional 'Rape A Sheep With A Leek' championships.

Cardiff International Waterpark,? Sounds more like a theme park than a cricket venue. What has Headingley done to displease the ECB?

Maybe a reference to the Welsh weather?

Yeah a reference to the shitty weather that always encompasses Wales and aids in providing the most dour of cricketing conditions, assisted by a pudding of a pitch. Really, really exciting times - especially with the 'brand of cricket' we're likely to be playing.

Is this an anti-Midge move?

It's a 'we will bid higher than the other counties to get the Test but we won't pay the ECB for it' move.

Been to the Swalec Waterpark three times in the past 2 years - pissed it down on all three occasions.

Bell seems confident; I guess he will be captain by the time this series starts:

Re: The Ashes back in Cardiff. Yay...
I'm definitely in. Will arrive in England from around the time of the Cardiff Test (at the earliest) and go all the way through to the Trent Bridge. I have heaps of leave owing to me and can't think of a better way to spend it. The Trent Bridge and (if possible) Birmingham Tests look the most likely for me; I'm not even going to bother trying to get Lords tickets. Might attend bits and pieces of a couple of the county games as well, if I can ... enjoyed what I saw of the game at Hove last year (was lucky enough to get a ticket at the gate).

Are you trying to say that there was a county championship game that wasn't a sell out?

Oz v Sussex ... sold out; skived a ticket at the gate.
It rained later; but it didn't really matter.
