well found Fred.
Brian H was a great follower of the game. Testimony to his writing skills was ghosting Captain Blood's columns...imagine having to decipher what the beloved Jack was saying and turning it into a decent approximate of English that still retained Jack's voice.
Vale.
BTW MND is a bad way to go.

RIP Azmat Rana
It was a little surprising that he didn't play more than one test. He made 49 in his only test innings & averaged 47 in his first class career.
He was the brother of controversial umpire, Shakoor Rana, and test batsman Shafqat Rana.

Was he in the 1971 touting party to England?
Selection inconsistency was a feature of Pakistani cricket even then.

Yes. Both Azmat & Shafqat were in the touring party but they struggled for runs that year.
Azmat played his only test in 1980 against Australia. I originally wondered if they had a settled batting line-up at the time but that doesn't appear to be the case.

Ah yes, you're right. Beat her by 6 months (although Rosemary Follet was Chief Minister of the ACT a few months before Carmen became Premier).

I had a little bit to do with Ms Kirner in the early 90s when she was Premier.

Charles Kennedy has died.

Very sad, one of the last politicians who I really felt was pretty decent and in it to make a difference rather than being self serving.

Aye, a decent guy, but a sad shambles of a man once the alcoholism took over.
55. A real shame.
