Geez, it's amazing how close bowlers from all around the world are to over-stepping when they take a wicket.

Geez Steve Davis is a f*cking shit umpire. Alays has been, but has become ultra shit in the last couple of years. Why is he still in the game?

Are the pies swinging or are Sri Lanka just playing better given time to settle?

Sri Lanka have fallen in a bigger heap. Will need Sanga (who went past 12,000 test runs today) to dig them out of some serious poo tomorrow.

From the highlights and the scorecard they sure served up a green seamer at the Basin Reserve.

I guess there's an (extremely) outside chance of him being able to get his career average up to 60 before he retires? Would need a not out double century in the first innings followed by a not out 50 odd chasing a small target in the second innings, I'd imagine.

No, he needs another 200+ runs in this match, with no further dismissals, to average 60.

He has to have scored 12360 runs for his current 206 dismissals to make it. If he gets out in either innings, the target goes up to 12420. Fanciful.

Sanga dismissed for 203. Awesome innings from an incredible player, but an average of 60 is now out of the question.

As noted a page earlier, he would have needed to total about 350 runs in this match to achieve that average, even if he had not been dismissed in this innings.

He had 11995 for 206 times out coming into the game. If he had not been dismissed at all in this game, he would have needed 365 runs in the match for a Test average of 60. Dismissed once, he would have needed 425 runs. Dismissed twice, 485.

In theory  I guess he might still make 222 not out in the second innings, but there may not be time, if NZ can even set up a chase that would require an effort like this from him. Up to McCullum I suppose ...

OF course, 2 x 200 in a match has only ever been done once in FC cricket before.

More relevant is if he can get the 15* or 74 out he needs to get the average above 59.

Or if he gets out, the the handful of runs he needs to get above Barrington (I think even a duck keeps him above Weeks and Hammond).

As it is the 6th person to get a double in his last test.

Aye, got to watch the latter part (last 70 or so) at a mate's. What a player. Reminded me of his knock v us when McGoo was bowling shite at Bellerive a few years back. Rudi gunned him as he closed in on a double.

Looks like Sanga will fall one double ton short of DGB as well.

That 199* a while ago is looking annoying for him.

He said that he'd play a couple of test series after the world cup. Also indicated that he may be playing for Surrey next season.

Stunning innings.

Cheers, only just noticed. Had a question mark in the posts image for a few weeks. Real life can screw itself!

Yeah, seems Vaas is still coach. There were some calls for his head after that ODI series in India. Was ludicrous given how Lakmal, Pradeep and Eranga have improved under him.
