I don't usually criticise old computer games, but I always hated pong. Lemmings, quite a bit later, was a beauty.

Don't remember that one. Pong was the first one I encountered, didn't like it much, though it was a novelty. Space Invaders and Pac Man were certainly responsible for many wasted hours in bars; there were others too (Galaxians, Galaga, Firebirds, Tutankhamen that I remember - these were all tabletop coin-in-slot arcade games)

Didn't have the slot machines gaming in India, at least where I grew up. Grew fast in the 90s, even more nowadays. Think the 8 bit consoles usurped the big arcade slot machines.

You're doing it wrong.Dello wrote:vilkrang wrote:Steam is the dog's bollocks, providing Valve don't go bust it means you never have to worry about losing or breaking a physical copy of any games you own. It basically stores all of the games you buy through them in the cloud.
It is bloody fantastic. Only downside is that EA have launched a similar (and inferior) service meaning if you want to buy an EA game, unless it is an older one it won't be on Steam.
I'm aware that I'm probably one of maybe 3 people (at most) on this forum who gives a shit...
Steam can f*ck off. Buggy piece of crap - I've never been able to use it in offline mode.
"Here's all these games I OWN but can't actually play because there's no internet connection. But this is so much better than having a physical copy and being able to play whenever and wherever I choose. So much better."
Since when was losing or breaking physical copies of games such an epidemic that a complete rethink in gaming delivery was required? I'm pretty sure SNES cartridges are indestructible.
And I have personally lost all of my mega drive, snes, and most N64 games. Not sure how, but I've done it.

Good times.
I have most of these on my iPad now which also has a stand that makes it look like a mini-arcade game.

Would be a better "game" if you could choose your own search term.
