Re: Australia's WI tour
it's sad to see how far they have fallen. from 4-5 Test series to shoehorned 2-3 Tests at most.

Re: Australia's WI tour
It is a pretty sad indictment of where WI have fallen to.
But don't you think that at the moment 4 or 5 tests of WI versus Aus would just be too painful to watch? It's surely going to be a very lopsided affair - and outside of bolstering averages and putting another W in the column I don't think there's much to be gained by Aus playing them over a proper 4-5 match series.

Re: Australia's WI tour
Cheers Horace.
I'm tempted to suggest that shortened series should apply to England at the moment. Partially a facetious comment - but partially deadly serious.
I hope we can at least offer a bit of resistance to the Baggy Greens otherwise this Summer is going to be a real dud.

Shite tour. It's what you'd call one of the big three throwing some crumbs the way of one of the little guys
Re: Australia's WI tour
Perhaps the Windies would get longer test series if their money-hungry players stopped giving the IPL priority over tests.
Chris Gayle's back has been mysteriously playing up before pretty much every test series for the last two years, before he miraculously recovers to belt a 40 ball century in some domestic T20 tournament a week later.

Fair point guv.
I guess when the ACB sorted their WI tour out they did not know quite how weak England would be this year.
If we were a half decent team then you're right - a 2 test tour and a minimal build-up/acclimatisation in England could've left them looking pretty silly. But as it stands I think your grip on the urn is pretty safe.

Schedule has changed ... in a move that will annoy some Fanatics and other tourists.
All games have been brought forward by 2-3 days.

Sorry - I'm going to have to play my joker. Peter Moores. If there was a Top Trumps series for the most awful/destructive coaches ever he would win on all counts. He is the equivalent of the Doomsday Device in Dr. Strangelove.

Lindsay, I like your work.
Have you considered the strong possibility that England's management team has been recruited exclusively from the B Ark?

Re: Australia's WI tour
Big Curtly was over at the Lords NZ v Eng match and in a short interview intimated that the WI will struggle to match Aus - and that Aus are a much better opposition than Eng.
Is that Curtly doing his own variant of Colin Graves's 'they're mediocre' to motivate his boys?
