Cyclonic conditions in Sydney today. Carnage for the first day back at school. Traffic is horrendous. I've had 7 inches on the old scale at my place up norf of Sydney.

Good for the garden (er, I think). The footy was amusing last night. It was a bogmire.

Aye. I said to Mrs K a few months ago that we would see a proper cyclone in Sydney in our lifetimes.

I finally got a prediction right.

I spend the morning in the cold and the rain emptying my pool. First world problems I know but fark me it made me grumpy.

And as I speak, the neighbours have just lost a big old gum tree. No property damage, fortch.

Aye, I was up early unblocking drains and clearing tree branches.

FMD, this is Balmoral Beach (a normally  flat inner harbour beach near me) !

Three deaths in Dougie's birthplace

1.04pm: NSW police have confirmed that three people have died as the storm sweeps through Sydney and the Hunter regions.

In a statement, NSW Police said: “Three people have died as severe weather conditions continue to impact the Central Hunter region today. Intense weather conditions overnight and early this morning (Tuesday 21 April 2015), have increased rainfall in the Central Hunter Local Area Command.

“Numerous calls were received by emergency services for assistance, particularly in the Stroud and Dungog areas.

“During the morning a woman and two men were located deceased within the Dungog township.

“The circumstances surrounding their deaths are still to be determined.

“A brief will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.’’

Had a call from the worried old cheese. She is in Port Macquarie, where it's a beautiful sunny day. I assured her I was above the flood line.

My in laws flew into sydney today on the way home from a 51 day holiday

they missed their connecting flight and my sister in law is going off at them for missing it

A friend flew in to Sydney last night. Said it was the wildest landing experienced in a long time.

Given where Woody lives, he's likely not to have power at the moment. So your sledge, good as it was, may well have been wasted.
