I know you're all interested so I thought I'd update you. I did get a Mini in the end but it was rear ended the other day. Good times.

My courtesy car is an automatic 64 plate Mercedes E Class that looks like the Star Trek Enterprise inside and is the poshest car I've ever been in. Bearing in mind I've only ever driven manual hatchbacks I sh*t the absolute f*cking sh*t out of my pants when I drive it.

Nothing wrong with an original Mini; but not those overgrown recent mock-ups.

The Magna still goes, although I suspect it wouldn't pass an emissions test. It's so dirty I could hide it in the bush and it would be hard to spot. It rarely drives more than 20 k. The Honda work car was thankfully updated after 3 years, before I had to wash it.

We're still driving our now 6 year old Mazda CX-9. The three kids treat it like a dump so it's unlikely we'll ever get a new car until they move out of home.

What year is a 64 plate?

July/August 2014, a year old. Only got 500 miles on the clock. It's a beautiful car inside and out if you've got 40-50k spare. I was almost embarassed driving it.
